Avery Sunshine
Avery Sunshine is an enigmatic singer, composer and performer. He combines jazz from the soul genre with R&B to create a unique mixture. The singer has worked everywhere from Broadway up to The Democratic National Convention to the European music scene and the club scenes. Sunshine is a name that she has given her has been given as Denise White. While she now lives in Atlanta the place she was raised is Chester Pennsylvania. Her musical journey began in the church, where she sang and performed piano. She studied at Spellman College and began to learn the R&B style of Atlanta. In 2005, she was commissioned as the lead keyboardist for Tyler Perry's stage show Meet the Browns. Jennifer Holliday, a Grammy and Tony Award winning vocalist who has worked on stage production Dreamgirls during the National Black Arts Festival of Atlanta in 2007, contacted her to serve as the choir leader of the stage production. Sunshine became the focus of interest during four consecutive performances at the 2008 Democratic National Convention and was later invited to sing during President Barack Obama's inauguration in 2009.
